Halong Bay Private Charters
We charter only the small, handful of boats on Halong that offer the absolute highest quality for private Halong Bay cruises or semi-private cruises (sharing a boat). These wooden cruisers (often misleadingly called "junks") are not the old junks that plied Halong Bay and Hong Kong Harbor in decades past, nor are they sleek chrome and fiberglass yachts with amenities you would expect in the Caribbean, Turkish coast, or in the nearby Gulf of Thailand, as the government does not allow foreign operators to cruise on Halong Bay.
The Halong Bay boats we charter are well maintained, comfortable, with an attentive crew. In addition to the crew, you are accompanied by an experienced guide from our Hanoi office to ensure your cruise is perfect and to provide escort by kayak.
Newer boats are launched each season, often replacing some of the charter boats below. We do not recommend the larger cruise boats, such as the 36-cabin Emeraude or Halong Ginger, being also constructed of wood can be crowded and noisy not to mention cruising a rote itinerary through the bay. All charters include an option for kayaking with our experienced guide in tandem or single kayaks. On board dining is wonderful, with an array of Vietnamese, seafood and Western dishes, and any dietary requirements can be arranged, as well as special occasions celebrations, such as birthdays or anniversaries.
Launched in 2009, the Violet offers the perfect mix in traditional elegance and modern comfort. Elegant decoration and interior design. The boat features a boutique dinning room, removable bar, spacious sundesk, library, lounge, spa and gym. There are six individual cabins offering elegant Indochina 1930’s decor. The Violet Suite is 43 sqm and deluxe rooms are 36 sqm.

The Valentines are a pair of 27-meter cruisers, of two and five cabins, launched in 2007 and 2010, respectively. They are currently the finest boats on the bay. There cabins are spacious, full size rooms of 19 sqm for deluxe cabins and 30 square meters for the suite, and all the cabins feature en-suite bathrooms, which not only contain a large shower with rainfall and handheld massage showers, but a full bath with Jacuzzi as well.
Dining room offers a comfortable and romantic setting, with large panoramic windows from which to take in the beauty of spectacular surrounding scenery while enjoying the best meals ever with flavor of Vietnamese food combined with various kinds of wine.
